Now in our 4th year, Barefoot Festival also known as The Goddess Camp, returns another spectacular week end of fun a frolics!
This year we are very excited to have a NEW FESTIVAL SITE!!!
The Barefoot Festival is an intimate, family friendly gathering focusing on the celebration of dance, music, art and culture. Set in the cultural heart of the country, middle England, in the beautiful Leicestershire countryside. With something for everyone, we have a bursting program of entertainment planned this year - from Belly Dance to Capoeira, Samba to Can Can, Burlesque to Dancing with fire, Flamenco to Morris Dancing!!!
But it doesn't stop there, oh no - we're just getting started!
Entertainment starts on the Friday evening
Over the week end we are running a variety of free workshops for adults and children – dance and music, arts and crafts . We have on site therapists to help you chill out with massage or holistic treatments in the tipi and tranquillity area !!!
Saturday night is party night!!
The workshop leaders, teaching over the week end have put together a fabulous evening for you, show casing their talents! You can look forward to an eclectic, tantalising cabaret of dance, music and mayhem including a Capoeira Demonstration, Belly Dance and Burlesque, the French Can Can, Samba - to mention but a few! Then let us blow you mind with a beautiful and mesmerising display of Fire!!!!! Spend the rest of the evening drumming dancing, poi spinning, singing and chilling around the camp fire! Ahhhh bliss!
We have a fantastic outdoor Fairy Market running throughout the week end, selling wonderful, unusual artifacts and crafts from around the world, beautiful clothing, jewellery, dance equipment, information stalls, a henna artists, face painters, and holistic therapists. We have some wonderful caterers selling a globaltastic range of delicious delights, beautiful hot chai, elder flower cordial, a Shisha Pipe, Raw Food and Juice Bar, and new this year the Can Can Café for Coffee and Pan Au Chocolat!
The festival grows each year and we aim to improve our facilities and offerings to you so each year gets better and better. This means better workshops, more music,improved facilities more entertainment, more kids stuff and if you can imagine it, more fun! Each year people return to the Barefoot Festival, rekindling friendships and forming new ones! The whole week end costs just £ 49 when you book before June- that includes your camping, entrance to workshops, parking, all entertainment and children under 14 years are free when accompanied by an adult ticket holder.
The camp is run generously through volunteers and is non profit making. The organisers produce the camp through their love of movement, music and art. We are always looking for extra help support and ideas.
