Now in our 3rd year, Barefoot Festival returns for another spectacular week end of fun a frolics! The Festival is an intimate, family friendly gathering focusing on the celebration of dance, music, art and culture. Set in the cultural heart of the country, middle England, in the beautiful Leicestershire countryside.
With something for everyone, we have a bursting program of entertainment planned - from Belly Dance to Capoeira, Samba to Morris Dancing, Burlesque to Dancing with fire!!! But it doesn't stop there, oh no - we're just getting started!
There will be an open stage on the Friday evening so bring along you dancing shoes or you guitar and share your talent in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Through out the week end we are running free workshops for adults and children, arts and crafts and we have on site therapists to help you chill out with massage or holistic treatments in the teepee and chill out zone!!!
Saturday night is party night!! The workshop leaders, teaching over the week end have put together a fabulous evening for you, show casing their talents! You can look forward to an eclectic, tantalising cabaret of dance, music and mayhem including a Capoeira Demonstration, Flamenco and a Burlesque Dancer to mention but a few! Then let us blow you mind with a beautiful and mesmerising display of Fire!!!!! Spend the rest of the evening drumming dancing, poi spinning, singing and chilling around the camp fire! Ahhhh bliss!
We have a fantastic outdoor Fairy Market running throughout the week end, selling wonderful, unusual artifacts & crafts from around the world, beautiful clothing, jewellery, dance equipment, information stalls, a henna artists, face painters, and holistic therapists. We have some wonderful caterers selling a globaltastic range of delicious delights, beautiful hot chai, elder flower cordial, a Shisha Pipe and Tea tent and plenty for the vegetarian.
The whole week end costs just £ 49 - that includes your camping, entrance to workshops, parking, all entertainment and children are free when accompanied by an adult ticket holder.
The camp is run generously through volunteers and is non profit making. The organisers produce the camp through their love of movement, music and art. We are always looking for extra support and ideas.
