Goddess Camp Workshops

Throughout the week end there will be various workshop lead by experienced and professional teachers and trainers. There will be various craft sessions and workshops for children and adults. Workshops will take place outside, weather permitting or in one of the marquees.

We aim to take you on a journey around the world. Dance workshops are open to everyone attending the camp - Gods &Goddesses, with exception to the Burlesque Workshop which is only open to Goddesses! Most of the teachers will be displaying their skills as part of our cabaret show on Saturday night. There is also an opportunity for you to show your talents and new skills on the open stage running over the week end.

African Dance

Highlighting the camp this year is Denise Lowe from the superb group Baka Beyond. We are honoured to welcome Denise and friends to Goddess Camp for 2008. Denise will be bringing two percussionists along to teach an intense and electrifying workshop in African dance. Certainly a workshop not to be missed. Poi

The art of spinning little balls and flags on chains and cord around the body! Great for adults and children, its addictive and fantastic fun and hypnotising to watch! Originating in New Zealand this practise is catching on like wild fire! Talking of Fire, there will be fire poi demonstrations on the Friday and Saturday night! Some poi will be available to practise on but if you have your own please bring them along. Prepare to be mesmerized by some of our professional fire dancers and take part in the beautiful Thai lantern ritual! Those who attended last year will remember this magical experience.

Belly Dancing

This exotic and enchanting dance is now more popular than ever! Beautiful and graceful the workshops will be suitable for the beginner and also exciting and challenging for the more advanced levels.

Flamenco

The power, the passion and the charm of this dance will be available for you to sample over the week end, with an introduction to the traditional Flamenco dance with a superb & experienced teacher.

Burlesque

A workshop only available to the Goddesses at the camp, Moulin Rouge eat your heart out! We will be learning some tricks of the trade in this workshop lead by an experienced and professional Burlesque performer. Also prepare to be tantalized.

Latin & Samba

Get your heart rate going with these energetic and passionate dance forms, feel the rhythm, follow the beats and let your hair down! Prepare to turn the heat up with this one!

Capoeira

As seen on the BBC2 advert! With its roots in Brazil this amazing fusion of Martial Art, dance and percussion will blow you away! Demonstrations & workshops lead by an amazing group from the local area and across the UK.

Yoga & Tai Chi

A chance to relax, and calm. A wonderful opportunity to take time out and find inner peace. Lead by experienced teachers and suitable for all levels. There will also be YogaBugs workshops available for children aged between 2 ½ and 7 years, running over the week end, an amazing and fun introduction to yoga for children.
